Thoughts About Kim Kardashian

Just got home from a Silpada party with friends. I ordered a couple new pairs of earrings and a ring. In May I will be hosting a party and I will share the link so you can order something if you'd like.

After I got home from the party, I singed in to Youtube. One of the videos recommended for me to watch was "Brandy's Message to Kim Kardashian". Following that I was redirected to the video below:

In the process of posting this I was considering how I wanted to word it. When I clicked on the embed option for sharing the video, I got the message: "embedding has been disabled by request". That pisses me off. So. now I'm not really going to censor my thoughts on the topic.

Kim Kardashian went through with a wedding and got divorced less than three months later. She committed to spending her entire LIFE with someone, and less than 100 days later she threw in the towel? There is no excuse other than physical violence. How difficult could it honestly be to make a relationship work in that privileged of a life? The excuses are a complete load of crap. If Kim truly thinks that 72 days is a valid effort towards a lifetime commitment, then someone in her immediate circle of trust needs to give her a reality check. The whole sham of a marriage and the quickly following divorce was a slap in the face to her fans, but Kim didn't care. She made her money, got her publicity. Ever heard the phrase, 'any publicity is good publicity'? I'm sitting here writing this blog, correct?

Kim knows dear old mom will write the script that makes it all better. Interviewers will ask the right questions that put her in a positive light. She's only concerned about the image, being the shell of a person who publicists, editors, and writers must worry about portraying as a multi-faceted, praise-worthy personality.

Gag me with a freaking spoon!!

Her publicist (Kris?) obviously realized the potential damage that could be done by the above video going viral, and requested it not be embeddable (is that a word?). That speaks volumes to me, personally.

I think that Kim's actions over the past few years have been despicable - from sex tapes to scandalous credit card companies and now a fraudulent marriage. She has been rewarded for her poor choices with fame and is a shining example of how rotten characters really can use their looks to become successful.

I remember the first time I watched the Kardashians show, they were out at a cabin during the winter and Kim was throwing an unbelievable hissy fit that would put a 5 year old to shame. That was the real brat she is. The one you sometimes see lashing out in the show these days. Most of the time they candy coat her bitchiness and script scenes that redeem her, but take the recent text to Khloe for example. That's Kim.

The rest of the cast is awesome: Khloe is down to earth. No uber-Christian parents are going to encourage their children to aspire to be like Khloe, but in all reality I think that most parents would be pleased if their children grew up to be women like the one we all have witnessed Khloe become.

Anyone able to comply with the expectations Kourtney sets for herself in life would do themselves a great service by doing so. She has always been a vision of class and self respect.

Kris is a devoted, loving, concerned mother who also manages the girls and I have to say does a great job at that.

Bruce, what negative thing can you say about him? What a guy. And the RC helicopters, lol.

Scott has quite a unique perspective to share which is always interesting.

Lamar is chill, same with the brother.

What's frustrating to me is that I really like everyone on the show other than Kim. If I thought the whole family was fake and greedy like her I wouldn't watch, but what happens is that I enjoy the show up until I see Kim. Then, I am reminded that she pimped out the loyalty of her fans and didn't even care to hide it from them for more than 75 days. It was just a blatant, remorseless publicity stunt.

I blame Youtube for recommending the videos they did which got me all worked up about this. Thanks for reading!

RE: EVERYTHING

When the Facebook Parenting video first came out, I heard the audio on the radio. I got home and immediately looked it up on Youtube. After boyfriend and I watched it, we were redirected to a RE: video this lady had posted. It was terrible and I was bemused by the number of views. I told my boyfriend (who doesn't use Youtube) how just by putting RE: and using the original video name, this woman's video would go viral. People would think it was the daughter replying to her father.

Then, I saw this video called RE:EVERYTHING (by DireBoris) in the popular video feeds. Remembering the stupid RE: video I'd already watched, I didn't click on it. I continued to see it as a popular video on Youtube's home page for a few days but refused to click - thinking it was one of Youtube's poorly filtered viral videos.

Today, I was brought to the DireBoris channel to watch a video about the ridiculousness of Youtube's recent changes. I thought they were spot on, so I finally clicked on the RE: EVERYTHING video. The guy basically puts a hilariously accented twist on my original thoughts about the RE lady.

Watch it below, be entertained but also catch his point:

"She reply to 1000 video and every day she update her channel! I don't understand, it make me go explode and fly to the moon in many small pieces!!"

Third Brazilian Laser Hair Removal Treatment

I had my third Brazilian laser hair removal treatment this morning at Aura!

I originally planned to wait about 10 weeks after my second laser hair removal treatment at Aura Laser Skin Care Center before going in for the third one. They recommend 6-8 weeks between sessions, but I have found that waiting more time is beneficial for a number of reasons.

I had the second treatment on October 20th 2011, and suddenly the holidays and lots of goings on brought me to the end of December. That was seven weeks following the second treatment, and I finally started to notice shedding. This was very different from my first experience. The shedding delay was due, I believe, to the drastic slow down of hair growth. So, my appointment today came four months and four days since my last treatment - quite a bit longer than recommended.

There were some very significant differences between today's appointment and the last two I had, so I will be sure to discuss those in my upcoming video. Tonight after work I will try to sit down and fill you all in while I bake cupcakes for my room mates birthday.

If you would like to catch up on my treatments so far, two of the videos will be posted below.

Free Papa John's Pizza!

I posted this video last month after having an incredible experience with Papa John's and their customer service representatives.

I have a long work history in the pizza industry from service to management and I am so impressed with Papa John's as a company recently that I find myself here commending them once again.

Here is the video I originally posted:

To break it down for you in case it was hard to follow the first couple minutes:
My room mate wanted to order pizza one night. Since she didn't have a Papa Rewards Points membership I asked if we could place the order on my account. I hadn't ordered since moving in to the house, and was sad to see our address was "out of range". Not wanting to lose the points for the order (points are given for orders placed online only), I contacted the restaurant to see what my options were. The manager told me to order online using the "Carry Out" option and then to call him back and he would override the system to allow delivery.

I did what I was told and later in the evening e-mailed the website to see if that needed to be how I ordered from then on. They responded that it was.

So a week down the road I was informed via e-mail that I was a winner in the Million Pizza Giveaway. When we ordered that pizza, we received another e-mail saying we won again!! I ordered the second FREE pizza and went to pick it up - along with a couple 20Oz Cokes. The next day we were notified that because we purchased Coke products with our pizza we won a free music download.

Following all of that excitement, I received a postcard in the mail granting me a free pizza of my choice, signed personally by the General Manager at my neighborhood location.

I was completely blown away by this, honestly feeling borderline guilty for the overload of free pizza. That led me to making the video above.

Fast Forward A Month:

Just as I was discussing with my friends and room mates that we didn't see a single pizza commercial during Superbowl 2012, I caught a glimpse of the story online that Papa John's was giving a free pizza and two-liter of Pepsi Max away to every Papa Reward Points member because some of us participated in a coin toss prediction and were correct. I did not participate in that, but I did get a free pizza code around 8PM last night in my e-mail.

Instead of spending millions on a 30 second ad, they are putting that money towards giving away millions of free pizzas. Kudos, Papa John's for going above and beyond to keep your customers happy. Other consumer brands should seriously consider adopting your marketing and customer relation strategies.

@PapaJohns

A few things to keep in mind when redeeming your free pizza, and any other time you order:
- Tip your driver or server at least 20% of the non-discounted price. You would be surprised how many people do not tip even when an order is free, and with an overload of these free orders coming in over the next week, the drivers will especially appreciate a generous gratuity from you.
- Consider ordering a side item like cheese sticks or chicken wings to help the store control P+A. Promos and allowances should be under a certain % of daily sales. You can bet your behind that Papa John's is taking a HUGE hit in that area with this promotion. I estimate about 30% of their daily sales for the next few days will be P+A.
- Provide a phone number you are available at, a correct and complete address including any special instructions that would be helpful to the driver, and turn on a porch light that illuminates your house number.

Enjoy your free pizzas, Papa John's lovers!

2012 Presidential Race

Sadly, it seems that the Republican party is rushing to narrow down the candidacy for President. I don't think people have had enough time to really hear out the policy ideas from each candidate; my opinion has changed with every debate I've watched.

At first I was in support of Michelle Bachmann - then I heard her views on abortion. She was out in my mind and shortly thereafter out of the race entirely.

Then, I thought Newt Gingrich was my man. Until he called for a new military post in his introduction speech for a debate, and used the absurd argument and cry for compassion that we can't deport "grandmas". So, Newt's not for me.

After Newt, I suddenly was drawn to Ron Paul. I'd previously dismissed him because as my room mate so eloquently pointed out, Ron Paul is the crazy uncle that you love to listen to talk but who has to stay in the basement when (closed minded) people are around. If we started to look at things in the way Ron Paul does and has been for DECADES, we could strategically redirect the future of our country while dealing in reality - which is an incredibly rare thing these days.

During the latest debate, Rick Santorum was on his game! I honestly had not noticed him during any previous discussions, his cheesy, seemingly fake smile had me dismissing his every word for a long time. But, his approach to immigration reform is very impressive. His policy ideas for taxation are the closest thing I have heard to my ideals. His responses to health care questions were well thought out and comprehensive.

The first debate of the year had me researching the nature of debates. When Mitt Romney took the mic I was convinced he was the Democratic representative of the debate. Come to find out it was the Republican debate, so what was he doing there? Oh, he is a Republican? I found that very hard to believe after hearing much of his policy - in state tuition for illegal immigrants? Talk about coming out of LEFT field! Well, over time I have warmed up to him slightly; more just coping with his poll results and realizing that I will likely be voting for either him or Obama when it all boils down.

It is so very sad to see that primaries are already taking place and people are being quickly eliminated or written off due to poll results. I am completely torn at this juncture as to which candidate I support between Ron Paul and Rick Santorum. Why do we need to eliminate people so quickly? We need time to really hear our their ideas and what their plans for our country are and I think the media is doing an outrageous disservice to the public by showing these polls that strip hope from the candidates with low ranks.

We need to focus on three things this election day. The person we each vote for to be the President of the United States needs to stand for our own personal values on the following three topics:

1. Immigration Policy
2. Spending/Taxation/Budget
3. Health Care Reform

These three topics are of the utmost importance in determining the direction our country goes from here. We are at the very bottom, in the worst place we can be financially as a country. Corruption, greed and private interests have left us financially destitute. This crippling of the government systems we have in place gives us an awesome opportunity to pick up the scraps and start over, rebuilding our ideal America. So, who represents your ideals on those three values?

What Beer Are You Drinking This Super Bowl Sunday?

I am having a hard time deciding which beer to buy for our Super Bowl get together today. It's getting close to game time, I know! I so I Googled it and found a quiz to help decide which beer to go for. Here are my results:

I really do prefer to buy local beers, so I think I'll be going for a Red Hook brew. Leave a comment below telling me what beer you chose to serve at your Super Bowl party this year!
